Connection technology

Fusion-joined – tight and durable

Plastic pipes are fusion-welded and thus permanently tight – without corrosion, without gasket wear. Depending on the system we supply the matching technique:

  • Heated-tool butt welding (PE, PP, PVDF)
  • Electrofusion couplers (PE)
  • Socket / IR welding
  • Flange connections with stub end & backing flange
  • Solvent-cement joint (PVC-U/-C)

Advantages over metal: corrosion-free, lightweight, smooth inner wall (low deposits & pressure losses), chemically resistant and low-maintenance.

Frequently asked questions about plastic pipes

Which plastic pipe for drinking water?

Usually PE 100 (EN 12201) for buried lines; for building installation, PP-R or PVC-C depending on requirements.

Which material for aggressive chemicals?

PVDF or ECTFE offer the highest chemical and temperature resistance; PP is the economical solution for many media.

Up to what temperature can plastic pipes be used?

Depending on the material: PE ~40 °C, PVC-U ~60 °C, PP ~80–95 °C, PVC-C ~90 °C, PVDF ~140 °C, ECTFE ~150 °C.

How are plastic pipes joined?

Fusion-welded (butt, electrofusion coupler, IR) or via flanges; PVC also solvent-cemented.
