What sets boiler making apart from other pipework
A boiler is pressure equipment of the highest category. Every pressure-bearing part needs unbroken material evidence, every weld a qualified procedure, and in the end the file has to be complete – otherwise there is no acceptance, even if the boiler is technically finished. That is why in boiler making price decides less often than whether traceability and documentation run along from the start. Water-tube boilers fall under EN 12952, shell boilers under EN 12953.

Boiler making – frequently asked questions
EN 12952 or EN 12953 – which applies to us?
EN 12952 covers water-tube boilers, where the water is inside the tubes and the flue gas passes outside. EN 12953 covers shell boilers, such as the classic three-pass boiler. The construction decides, not the size.
When is a 3.2 certificate needed instead of 3.1?
When an independent body carries out acceptance – a notified body, an expert or the purchaser’s representative. The 3.1 is issued by the works itself. The difference costs time, so it belongs in the order, not in final acceptance.
Up to what temperature does 16Mo3 serve?
In practice to about 500 °C. Above that creep strength falls off markedly and 13CrMo4-5, 10CrMo9-10 or, at high parameters, X20CrMoV11-1 and P91 come into question. The design governs, not rules of thumb.
Can you deliver in stages following the erection sequence?
Yes, and in boiler making that usually makes more sense than one complete delivery. Tell us the erection order and we split the deliveries accordingly – it relieves your lay-down area on site.

Boiler type and code, drawing or parts list, tube sizes and wall thicknesses, material grades, the marking you want, the date and the required certificate to EN 10204.
