Superheater coils and tube sheets: special parts for boiler & power plant

In boiler and power plant construction, standard parts are not enough. Superheater coils and tube sheets are manufactured to drawing – from creep-resistant materials.

Superheater coils

Superheater coils are bent tube strings in which steam is heated beyond the saturated-steam temperature. They are made of creep-resistant boiler tubes such as 16Mo3, 13CrMo4-5 or 10CrMo9-10, which permanently withstand heat and internal pressure. They are manufactured to drawing – with defined bend radii and spacings.

Tube sheets & drilled plates

The tube sheet is the plate in which the boiler tubes end. In a three-pass boiler the flue gas passes through three passes; the tubes are rolled into or welded into the drilled tube sheet. The hole pattern – number, diameter and pitch of the holes – is manufactured exactly to specification.

Rolling-in or welding-in

In rolling-in, the tube end is expanded in the hole and pressed into a friction-locked fit; in welding-in it is additionally welded. Which variant is suitable depends on pressure, temperature and maintenance concept.

Material and certification

We supply creep-resistant grades with an inspection certificate 3.1 to EN 10204 and complete traceability – important for acceptance and operational safety in the power plant.
